Australia vs India 1st test Day 1 – Border Gavaskar Trophy
Australia vs India 1st test Day 1 Report: On the very first day of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, India won the toss and decided to bat first. They made quite a shaky start. However, they managed to make 233 runs for six wickets in the 89 overs. If we talk about the performance of the Indian inning then although they did lose their first two wickets early on in the game, middle-order batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli managed to stabilize the inning with them ending up scoring 43 and 74 runs respectively.
The skipper Virat Kohli managed to smash 8 boundaries as he scored a half-century. While Ajinkya Rahane also contributed 42 runs. As of now, Wriddhiman Saha and Ravichandran Ashwin are on the crease. Hopefully, the end batsmen play well and try to get the Indian team to a decent score against their opponents, the Australians.
Although it’s quite great news for the Indian cricket team that the skipper Virat is in the form again. But, he got run out on Day 1 of Ind vs Aus 1st Test. That was an unfortunate dismissal. However, it gives momentum to Australia as they pick a few wickets very quickly after that.
If we talk about the bowling of the Australians, then Mitchell Starc was the most successful bowler. He successfully took 2 wickets to his name. Cameron Green was the most economical bowler. He gave just 15 runs in the 9 overs. Other bowlers who succeeded at taking wickets were Josh Hazelwood, Pat Cummins, and Nathan Lyon who took 1 wicket each. The bowling of the Australians was balanced. Because they managed to stop the Indians from making a big score on the first day.
The upcoming game will be interesting to watch. Would the Australians manage to finish the Indian inning quickly or would the end batsmen of the Indian team manage to put up a fight and take the team’s score to a decent one? It would definitely be interesting to watch. If you ask for our opinion then according to us the Australians will manage to finish the Indian inning early on the next day.
