Australia vs India 3rd Test Day 5 Match Report: India were 98 for 2 at the end of Day 4. India scored 334 for 5. Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant performed exceptionally well. Rishabh Pant‘s inning was a brilliant one as his knock gave some goosebumps to Aussies. Because if Pant could have scored few more runs, then India could have won the game as well. He misses out his century by just three runs. Cheteshwar Pujara contributed as well and he went on to score 77 runs in 118 deliveries.
Steve Smith caught scuffing the pitch. So that Rishabh Pant got out. It was a childish incident which is trending on twitter.
Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari played well during the final session. Due to which the match resulted in a draw. It was an exceptional effort from both of them. Hanuma Vihari scored 23 off 161 balls. He was suffering from hamstring injury. While Ravichandran Ashwin scored 39 off 128 balls. They both were unbeaten.
Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon picked a couple of wickets. Pat Cummins took one wicket as well. Their fielding let them down as they missed few catches. They failed to pick wickets.
It was a miraculous effort from Indians. Because Australia were favourites to win the match once Rohit Sharma got dismissed yesterday. They could have taken lead to 2-1. But, India saves the match and the series is still 1-1. It was a combined team effort. But, the main highlight was Rishabh Pant‘s inning. Because he went off the field due to injury. Wriddhiman Saha was keeping wickets in place of him.
Cricket is the real winner in this match. After a long time, we have seen a great game of Test cricket. We would want to see more matches like this in order to get Test Cricket alive. So that it doesn’t get affected with T20 cricket and leagues.
