Aussies won the fourth successive toss, and they decided to bat again. They lost two wickets quite early. But, Marnus Labuschagne was the performer of the day as he scored his fifth Test century. He fights back for Australia and put them in a position to score a 350 plus total in the first inning. Steven Smith and Matthew Wade also contributed with 36 and 45. Navdeep Saini went off the field in his 8th overdue to a groin injury.

Australia scored 274 for five at the end of the first day. Cameron Green and Tim Paine were unbeaten on 28 and 38. They will continue from here and look to score 35 plus runs on the board. While India will look to pick early wickets and will look restrict them under 320. T Natarajan picked a couple of wickets. Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, and Washington Sundar took one wicket as well. Washington Sundar picked his maiden wicket and it was of Steven Smith.

Rohit Sharma took a fantastic catch to dismiss David Warner. He also bowls one medium-pace delivery to finish Navdeep Saini‘s over who went off the field due to groin injury. But, India has dropped few catches, due to which Australia was able to put a decent total on the board on Day 1. T Natarajan bowled well as he took a couple of wickets in his debut game on the fourth test’s first day. He dismisses Matthew Wade and Marnus Labuschagne.
