Australia vs India 4th Test Day 2 Match Report: Australia scored 274 for five at the end of the first day. India fought back on the second day and restricted Australia to 369. Tim Paine and Cameron Green got out on 50 and 47. The twenties were scored by Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon. T Natarajan, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar took three wickets each. While Mohammed Siraj picked one wicket.
India came in to bat for the first inning. They were 11 for one as Pat Cummins dismissed Shubman Gill. Rohit Sharma was looking in good nick, but he got out on 44 while trying to hit a six in Nathan Lyon’s over. India were 62 for two at the end of Day 2 at the Gabba stadium. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were unbeaten on 8 and 2. Later, the play got abandoned due to rain on the second day. It was disappointing for the fans, but we can’t do anything. They will continue from here on the third day and score a fighting total against Australia. On the other hand, Australia will look to put India under pressure by picking early wickets.
Brisbane’s conditions are not right. Because as per the weather forecast, rain is possible in the next few days as well. If the rain interrupts again, then there will be chances of a draw in the match.
Mcdonald says that we should have added a few more runs. But, I am still happy with the way the guys played. The wicket of Rohit Sharma was essential for us. He says that Indian bowlers bowled brilliantly. It never looked like they are short of international experience. Both the debutants T Natarajan and Washington Sundar were fantastic.
Many former Indian players were disappointed with the way Rohit got out. They criticise the batsman because of his shot. Because an experienced player shouldn’t lose his focus while playing a test match, he should have converted his start into a big one. But, Rohit says that he doesn’t have any regrets as he believes in his shots and game plans. However, sometimes the shot doesn’t come off well.
