England All-rounder received a demerit point and fined
England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been fined 15 percent of his match fees and has been awarded one demerit point as he breached the article 2.3 of ICC Code of Conduct due to his verbal altercation with a spectator on the fourth Test against South Africa on 24th of January on Friday on day one. However, he can still play limited-overs cricket as he had no demerit points in the past 24 month period so he does not have to worry but he should learn from his mistake.
The incident took place in the 46th over when he got dismissed by Nortje and he was walking out of the field. He used obscene language towards a spectator because the spectator taunted him and the incident was captured on camera. Later, Stokes apologized for his behavior and accepted the mistake and a demerit point which was proposed by match referee Andy Pycroft.
