England had won the last match in this T-20 series and they again proved that they have what it takes to win games back to back.
England vs South Africa 2nd T20. The toss was won by the English and they had decided to bowl first. With regards to the South Africa batting line up, almost all batsmen failed to create a good score.
Quinton de Kock was the best scorer with 30 runs to his name. A lack of effective partnerships amongst the South African batsmen meant that they had to stay content with a score of 146 runs in total.
With respect to England’s bowling, Adil Rashid impressed us with his performance (2 wickets in total with an economy rate of 5.75.) Other bowlers who took wickets were Jofra Archer, Tom Curran, and Chris Jordan. (They all took one wicket each.)
If we talk about the batting of the English, Dawid Malan played an interesting knock of 55 runs. While most of the other batsmen failed to prove their mettle. While if we talk about the bowling by the South African team, Tabraiz Shamsi impressed us with his performance (3 wickets with an economy rate of 4.75.).
Others who took some wickets were Lungi Ngidi (2 wickets) and Kagiso Rabada (1 wicket). But these performances were not enough and England easily chased the target set in front of them. England now has a lead under the whole series (2-0) and they would like to win the third match as well to do a clean sweep of the T20 series.
It would be interesting to see whether South Africa manages to make a comeback and win the third match. We guess that there is only one way to find out.
