I don’t know Why I am Getting Unnecessary Credit says Rahul Dravid.

Rahul Dravid was receiving praises all over social media sites like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. For his role in developing the young players who managed to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-2021 at Gabba. However, the legend has now said that he is getting unnecessary credit which is not at all required.

He was credited with this win because star players like Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, R Ashwin were injured. While captain Virat Kohli was on paternity leave. So, the responsibility of making sure that the team won fell on young shoulders. Like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Shardul Thakur, Washington Sundar, and Mohammed Siraj.

And interestingly, they did their job quite well and thanks to their fierce resistance at Gabba, India was able to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy and the series. Rahul Dravid says that he is getting unnecessary credit. And, that the players themselves earned it through their great performance.

The reason why he was being given the credit was that he used to be the coach of the Under-19 and A team from 2015 to 2019. Pant, Gill, Shaw, Sundar, Saini, Vihari, and Siraj were amongst the many who played under the guidance of Dravid. Before they went ahead to play for the Indian Cricket Team.

As of now, Rahul Dravid is the head of the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Karnataka. We sincerely hope that he keeps training and coaching players like this so that the Indian cricket team can become the best in the world.

This also proves the importance of proper coaching in the game of cricket. A player might be talented, but without proper coaching, he will probably lose his innate talent. That is why we need a coach who can identify a player’s strength and weaknesses and help him become a better version of himself. Coaches like Rahul do this job very well.
