How did Hobart Hurricanes Dominate The Renegades? The Blundstone Arena witnessed another great game between the Renegades and the Hobart Hurricanes. The Hobart Hurricane had won the toss and took the decision to bowl first.
As for the batting of the Renegades, although they did lose their first couple of wickets early on. But, their inning got some stability by the middle order batsmen Sam Harper and Rilee Rossouw. Both of them successfully played a splendid inning. While Sam scored 66 runs, Rilee had to stay content with 59 runs. The Renegades with the help of these two batsmen’s performance managed to put up a decent score of 157.
As for the bowling of the Hobart Hurricanes, Scott Boland turned out to be the best performer of all as he took 2 wickets. Along with that, he was also the most economical bowler with an economy rate of 4.75. While his fellow teammate Keemo Paul was the most expensive bowler who gave away 27 runs in just 2 overs.
With regards to the batting of the Hobart Hurricanes, they too made a similar start and lost their first couple of wickets early on in their inning. But then thanks to the innings of Ben McDermott (89 runs of just 55 bowls), they were able to successfully take over the match against the Renegades. They managed to achieve the set target in just 17.4 overs.
All this happened because of the mediocre bowling of the Renegades. They ought to have been more aggressive if they had to win the match. If we talk about their bowlers then only three of them (Josh Lalor, Kane Richardson, and Noor Ahmad) managed to take a wicket each to their names. Hopefully, the Renegades will learn something from this defeat and perform better in the upcoming Big Bash League matches.
The game was great and the crowd and watchers thoroughly enjoyed it. Hopefully, we will be able to watch more such games in the upcoming Big Bash League matches.
