Kohli and Co., in response, reached 204 and set a total of 405 runs. Kohli again contributed generously as he scored 81 runs. England suffered a humiliating defeat by 246 runs. Jayant too was instrumental in helping India do this. Overall, a decent debut.

Jayant Yadav ODI Debut

He stayed not out at the score of 1 on his debut match. This happened on 29th October 2016 against the New Zealand cricket team in Vishakhapatnam. He also took a wicket that of Corey Anderson.

The match started with India winning the toss and deciding to bat first. India scored a decent total of 269 runs in the fifty overs. Top scorers were Rohit Sharma (70 runs) and Virat Kohli (65 runs). But it was Axar Patel who boosted the total further by scoring 24 runs with a strike rate of 130+.

The Kiwis however while chasing the set target collapsed at the score of 79 runs. Five of their batsmen couldn’t even score a single run. It was Amit Mishra’s bowling which wreaked this havoc as he took five wickets.

Jayant Yadav, however, was the most economical bowler with the economy rate of 2.00.

Jayant Yadav IPL Debut

He made his IPL debut as a substitute in the match against Mumbai Indians on 23rd April 2015 while playing for Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals). He took one catch as a substitute fielder.

Mumbai Indians had won the toss to decide to bowl. This didn’t turn out well as Delhi put together 190 runs. Shreyas Iyer (83 runs) and JP Duminy (78 runs) were the lead scorers. Mitchell McClenaghan was the best MI bowler who took three wickets. However, he was quite expensive.

MI while chasing, managed to put up just 153 runs. The reason being none of their batsmen managed to score big. Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu scored 30 runs each. Opener Parthiv Patel batted quite aggressively as he scored 28 runs with a strike rate of 145+. The credit of this win goes to the bowlers of the then Delhi Daredevils.
