KKR vs SRH IPL 2021: Another match of IPL 2021 in which the team batting first made a strong total. One thing is clear though if you want to make a really strong total, one of your openers has to play a big inning.
KKR vs SRH IPL 2021 Match Summary
Rana’s Fiery Innings
Nitish Rana was the star of the KKR innings. He made 80 runs off 56 deliveries hitting 9 boundaries and 4 sixes. While his fellow opener Shubman Gill got dismissed after scoring just 15 runs, Rana built a solid partnership with Rahul Tripathi for the second wicket.
Rahul Tripathi Turbocharged Innings
Rahul went one step ahead of Nitish because he smashed 53 runs in just 29 balls with a strike rate of 180 plus. He was dismissed by T Natarajan but his innings made it feel as if KKR would be able to create a high score.
SRH’s Failure To Take Wickets Early On
Had the bowlers of SRH taken crucial wickets of the top order batsmen, perhaps KKR wouldn’t have gone as far as 187 runs. Vijay Shankar gave away 14 runs in the one over that be bowled.
Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow’s Half Centuries
After losing their first two wickets early on in the innings, things didn’t look well for the Sunrisers but Manish Pandey (61* runs) and Jonny Bairstow (55) tried their best.
Bairstow’s Dismissal Ruins It For SRH
He was sent back by Pat Cummins as Nitish Rana took the catch. Had this not happened, SRH might have won the match.
However, this doesn’t mean that the batsmen who came next didn’t try. Like most IPL matches, it was an interesting one. Chasing a challenging total isn’t an easy job. But, Hyderabad tried its best even after losing its openers early on.
