KL Rahul is one of the best batsmen in the Indian cricket team today. And that is rightly so, since he has proved himself worthy of title on so many different occasions.

First things first, let’s talk about his name first. Did you know that KL in his name stands for Kannur Lokesh? If the answer is no, then worry not, because we will be sharing some more cool facts about him today in this article. His full name is Kannur Lokesh Rahul (KL Rahul).

KL Rahul made his test debut in the year 2014 against Australia on the MCC. Though he failed to impress the Indian fans in his debut test (He made 3 and 1 run respectively in both innings), he managed to make an impressive comeback in his second test and made 110 runs in the first innings.

As for his ODI debut, he did that against Zimbabwe on the Harare sports club in 2016. Interestingly, he scored his maiden hundred in his first ODI cricket match. He became the first ever Indian cricketer to do so.

If we talk about his IPL career, then he made his debut in the year 2013 with RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore). He could not play in the 2017 edition of the IPL because of his shoulder injury. The 2018 edition was even bigger for him when he was bought by Kings XI Punjab for a whopping price of eleven crore rupees! In his debut match in the 2018 edition, he broke the record of Sunil Narine for the fastest fifty and made it in just 14 balls.

He made his first century against MI (Mumbai Indians) in the 2019 edition of IPL. As for the 2020 edition of the IPL, he got an opportunity to lead the side. Since former captain R. Ashwin was bought by Delhi Capitals. He also holds the record for most runs scorer in an IPL.

Overall he is a great player and batsman.
