Funny incident in the test match: Marnus Labuschagne Tries To Sledge Indian Openers

Australian cricketers might be one of the best ones in the cricketing world, but they are also consistent sledgers. Marnus Labuschagne proved this fact again in the 3rd test of the prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy. Marnus Labuschagne Tries To Sledge Indian Openers.

He not only tried to provoke Shubman Gill, he also tried to evoke some reaction from Rohit Sharma as well. Marnus later said that he was just ‘asking some questions’ to both the batsmen.

He didn’t stop here and went on to say that he will get ‘some answers out of him’ real soon. He did all these in a very funny manner. But, it was in fact suitable to be called as sledging.

It was as if the Australian cricketer was trolling the Indian cricketers in real life! It was really fun to watch as spectators and fans. While funny sledging is alright, it should not turn into aggressive sledging which might affect the opponent’s performance.

It should not surprise us as Australians have tried to sledge other Indian cricketers in the past as well. Shubhman Gill answered his questions by making use of his bat when he managed to score 50 valuable runs.

He hit 8 boundaries in his innings. Shubman Gill reponds to Marnus that he will tell him after the match who is his favourite cricketer. But, Rohit Sharma didn’t respond to him.

Indians till date haven’t involved in any of aggressive sledging related incident as aggressors. Aggressive sledging is an unethical practice. So, it should be banned from cricket altogether.

Cricketers should be given a friendly atmosphere to perform. While they play and toxic things like aggressive sledging ruins this for them. Hopefully, incidents like these won’t happen in future but with the Australians’ questionable conduct, it is difficult to say so.
