Mohammad Asif Makes A Serious Allegation Against Pakistani Players: Veteran Pakistani bowler Mohammed Asif has made a serious allegation against the current Pakistan cricket team. As per him, the cricketers who say that they are 17-18 years old are actually 10 years older than that.

This allegation is quite serious as it is saying that the Pakistani team is engaged in ‘age fraud’. He made this remark after Pakistan lost its Boxing Day Test against New Zealand by 101 runs. He made this claim on K. Akmal’s YouTube channel.

He also added that he believes that the current Pakistani bowlers don’t have adequate fitness and that they become ‘stiff’ after bowling just a few overs. His words sent a message to the Pakistani cricket fans that he was quite disappointed by the current state of Pakistani cricket.

If we talk about Mohammad Asif then his career ended early in 2010 due to match-fixing. To be specific, he had done spot-fixing. He deliberately bowled no-balls as per the instructions of the fixers.

We do agree that age fraud is a serious issue but we also think Mohammad Asif should have backed up his claims with evidence so that they would gain more legitimacy. He has also said that the current Pakistani bowlers don’t have the required ‘knowledge’. He also said that they lacked the required ‘control’ as well.

Again, this is a personal observation. This might also be a rant because the Pakistan cricket team lost an important test match. Asif might also be angry due to the fact that his career was quite short-lived.

He managed to play just 23 test matches, 38 ODI (One Day International) matches, and 11 T20 international matches. He also has a history of abuse of performance-enhancing drugs as well. For which he was suspended as well.

Whether or not to take his views seriously is up to your choice.
