If we talk about the second innings of the Indians then it was a bitter disappointment as the team could only score just 36 runs. As a replacement for Mohammed Shami, the veteran Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has asked the BCCI to send experienced Indian pacer Ishant Sharma to Australia in case he is fit at the moment. India also has two other options available which are Navdeep Saini and Mohammed Siraj.

Mohammed Siraj has performed quite well in the practice matches and might be team India’s choice for the upcoming test match. The suggestion given by Sunil Gavaskar won’t work. Because Ishant Sharma would have to go through the quarantine procedures due to the ongoing coronavirus epidemic.

Rohit Sharma has also traveled to Australia last week. But, he would be available for the 3rd and 4th test against Australia. Virat Kohli also said after the test that Mohammed Shami was in a lot of pain. He wasn’t able to even lift his injured hand.

This is quite unfortunate and we hope that the Indians are able to find a solution to this issue.
