Afghan President Allots Land For First International Cricket Stadium

Afghan President Allots Land For First International Cricket Stadium in Afghanistan. After players like Rashid Khan, Mohammed Nabi has proved their mettle throughout international T20 leagues like IPL (Indian Premier League) and the Big Bash League, another good news has arrived for the local Afghan cricket fans.

The president of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Mohammed Ashraf Ghani has taken a decision to allow 120,000 square meters of land in Kabul. For the construction of a world-class cricket stadium. This is great news for the local Afghan cricket fans. Because they have never seen favorite star cricketers in action at a local cricket ground.

It would be quite great for them to watch their team on the home cricket ground. It is also good news for the civilians of Afghanistan. Because the country has been hit with civil war for the last 3 decades.

If we talk about the stadium complex, then it will have an administrative block, car parking, a mosque, a health clinic, canopies for spectators, outdoor and indoor academies, a swimming pool, and a five-star guest house among other facilities.

The stadium will have a total capacity of 35,000 people. The Afghanistan Cricket Board chairman Farhan Yusefzai also released a statement about the would-be stadium.

In the past, the Afghan cricket team used to play their matches at Sharjah in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). Later they changed their home ground to Noida in India. That was further changed to Dehradun and now to Lucknow.

The future of Afghan cricket looks bright as a result of this brilliant decision by the Afghan president. Hopefully, the Afghan president will take similar decisions to prevent further violence in the country from the Islamic fundamentalist group, the Taliban.

As of now, the Afghan cricketers are representing franchises in the Big Bash league and are performing very well. They had also represented teams in the IPL in the last couple of months.
