Seddon Park witnessed another exciting match between the Kiwis and Pakistan. But, Pakistan Gets Beaten By New Zealand in 2nd T20.
How Pakistan Gets Beaten By New Zealand in 2nd T20? The Pakistanis had won the toss and took the decision to bat first. Veteran batsman Mohammed Hafeez was a lone warrior for Pakistan. He scored his career-best total of 99 in only 57 runs. He smashed 10 fours and 5 sixes. But, he didn’t get much support from the other end. However, still they post a decent total of 163/6 in 20 overs.
As for the performance of the Kiwi bowlers, Tim Southee trumped all others by managing to take 4 wickets to his name. His other teammates Ish Sodhi and Jimmy Neesham took a wicket each. Neesham also became the most economical bowler with an economy rate of just 5.00. A sad part of the Pakistani inning was that Mohammed Hafeez missed his century by just a run.
If we talk about the chase done by the Kiwis then did a pretty swell job as they successfully completed the chase in just 19.2 overs. They did lose their first wicket early on while chasing but wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert and skipper Kane Williamson took them to the gates of victory on their own. Kane Williamson knocked 57 runs in 42 balls while smashing 8 fours and a six while Tim Seifert scored 84 runs in 63 deliveries while smashing 8 fours and 3 sixes.
If we talk about the Pakistani bowling attack, then the bowlers failed to apply pressure or take wickets. Only Faheem Ashraf took a wicket early on the innings. He was also the most economical bowler with an economy rate of 5.7.
The game was pretty great. However, the kiwis won the match by 9 wickets. Thanks to their superior batting. We hope that the Pakistanis learn from this game and improve on their bowling attack.
