Pakistani Captain Babar Azam misses out From Upcoming T20 Series against Kiwis. It will be a big blow to Pakistan as their skipper has been ruled out.
Today brought an unfortunate news for the Pakistani Cricket Team. Their star player, batsman and Pakistani Captain Babar Azam misses out From Upcoming T20 Series. Because his right thumb got injured in a practice session while facing throwdowns. It’s a big blow for him and his team as they were looking forward to a really great T20 series with New Zealand.
Injuries are part of a cricketer’s career and its an accepted fact. We hope that he recovers soon and joins the Pakistani squad against New Zealand.
The medical team has conveyed that he won’t be able to practice for at least 12 upcoming days. This implies that he would be missing the entire T20 series against the rival New Zealand. Since Babar is injured, this most likely implies that Shadab Khan will be the temporary captain for the Pakistani team. The first T20 cricket match between both the teams will take place on the upcoming Friday in Auckland.
Babar Azam’s injury happened a day after his teammate Imam-Ul-Haq had fractured his thumb in yet another practice session. The PCB (Pakistani Cricket Board) also conveyed that the would-be temporary captain, Shadab Khan also has a niggle in his groin region.
These seem to be some of the issues which the Pakistan cricket team is currently dealing with. We sincerely hope that Babar becomes fit to play for at least the first test match between Pakistan and New Zealand. Hopefully, that will be the case. The doctors have also said that they would be keeping an eye out on his injury and update us with anything that turns up.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s head coach Misbah Ul Haq has said that he had conversed with Babar and he said that Babar is looking forward to the upcoming test series. We sincerely hope for the best for both Babar Azam and the Pakistani cricket team.
