Sourav Ganguly is one of the legendary cricketers in the world. A left-handed batsman, Sourav earned the nickname of “God of the offside” due to his batting skills in that area.  While Australia managed to score 355 runs in its first innings. Simon Katich (102 runs) and Michael Hussey (90 runs) were the topmost batsmen. India in its second innings scored 295 runs in total.

Sourav Ganguly Retirement From International Cricket

Sourav Ganguly took his retirement after playing his last test against the Australian cricket team in the year 2008. If we talk about his career then he played 100+ test matches, 300+ ODI matches, and 250+ first-class cricket matches.

He had announced his retirement before his last series began against Australia. He performed quite well in his last series and smashed 324 runs in total with an overall average of 54.00. In the 2nd test of this series, he scored his last ever test century in Mohali, Punjab.

His career met a happy end as India won this prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. After his retirement from international cricket, he played in the IPL.
