Here is good news for Cricket lovers worldwide. South Africa has confirmed its tour of Pakistan in early 2021.

South Africa Tour of Pakistan 2021 confirmed. This will be their first such tour in 14 years. The Proteas are to play two tests and three T20Is against Pakistan from 26 January to 14 February. 

The two test matches will be part of the ICC World Test Championship. It has been a long wait for the Proteas to play a T20 match in Pakistan. However, this tour will feature their first-ever T20I on Pakistan soil.

Match Schedule of South Africa vs Pakistan 

  • Test 1: 26-30 January at Karachi
  • Test 2: 4-8 February at Rawalpindi
  • T20I 1: 11 February at Lahore
  • T20 2: 13 February at Lahore
  • T20 3: 14 February at Lahore

Safety and Practice

The South African team will land on the 16th of January 2021. They will be subjected to institutional quarantine before they can get active on the field for practice and training. The confirmation was there by the South African Cricket Board

CSA Director, Graeme Smith stated this will be a great experience for their team as for most players this will be their first-ever tour to Pakistan. He also stated Pakistan’s love for the game which he has experienced during his playing days. 

PCB Director, Zakir Khan stated the confirmation from CSB on the tour is good news for Pakistan cricket lovers. He went on to state that the South African team and their matches are closely followed by fans in Pakistan as well. There is a huge fan base for the Proteas in Pakistan.

Cricket has returned to Pakistan, they have recently hosted a set of teams such as Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe. The two cricket playing nations will be working in tandem for the safety of their players during this tough time of Covid virus recovery.
