Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Chennai Super Kings Match 14
The top order of Sunrisers Hyderabad failed badly. They lost four wickets for 69 in 11 overs. Warner, Bairstow, Manish Pandey, and Kane Williamson, all were dismissed. The run out of Kane Williamson put the entire pressure on the SRH lower middle order. However, Abhishek Sharma and Priyam Garg batted brilliantly and managed to put up a decent total of 164 for 5 on the board. Their partnership was of 77 runs. Priyam Garg scored 51 runs in 26 balls. Abhishek scored 31 runs in 24 balls. Deepak Chahar picked a couple of wickets. Piyush Chawla and Shardul Thakur took a couple of wickets.
CSK dropped Murali Vijay due to his lack of intent in scoring runs quickly. Faf opened the inning with Shane Watson. However, they started poorly because they lost four wickets for 42 runs in 8.2 overs. Faf’s run out was a game-changer. Rashid Khan was outstanding as he gave only 12 runs in his four overs. He didn’t pick any wicket but he contained the runs and put pressure on CSK due to which they have to attack other bowlers.
CSK in the end needed 78 from the last four overs. The required run rate was more than 19. It was a difficult task for the Chennai Super Kings. However, the captain cool was still there on the crease. Jadeja started hitting boundaries but he got out on 35 balls 50. A big concern for SRH as their leading pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar got injured and was unable to complete his fourth over. He tried to bowl a couple of times but he was not able to bowl.
David warner decided to give the bowl to Khaleel Ahmed for the 19th over as he was looking to pick wickets in the 19th over so that they could win easily. But, it didn’t happen. He kept Abdul for the last over. He has to defend 28 runs in the final over which was a big task for a spinner who is not experienced. However, Dhoni and Curran were on the crease. But, he saved SRH from losing and came out as a winner. Chennai lost three matches in a row in IPL 2020. It is unbelievable. Priyam Garg receives the Man of the Match award.
