Virat Kohli’s 49th Century Details

Virat Kohli, on his birthday, 5th November 2023, managed to equal cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries. He achieved this feat against the fiercely competitive team of South Africa.

The crowd at Eden Gardens witnessed him facing 121 balls scoring 101 runs and he managed to stay not out till the end of the innings with Ravindra Jadeja.

A curious fact about this inning was that he did not manage to hit a single six! This shows that he was not in the mood to take high risk and was really looking to equal this record.

Another amazing innings played by him at Pune made sure that he stayed 1 century away from equalling Sachin’s record. This was against Bangladesh. The match went on till the very end as he and the team both needed 20 runs to complete his century and to win the game respectively.

He finished the match with KL Rahul with flying colours and laid the path to his record at Eden Gardens.
