About Cameron Green
Cameron Green, aka Cameron Donald Green, is a young Australian cricketer who debuted in test and ODI cricket on the international level just recently. Cameron Green is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm pacer. He was born on 3rd June 1999, in Subiaco. In his initial cricketing years, he played for the Subiaco-Floreat Club. If we talk about his List A debut, he made it against the Pakistan cricket team on the 10th January 2017.
His international test cricket debut made it against the Indian cricket team on 17th December 2020. He has only played one ODI (One Day International) match, and that too against the Indian cricket team on 2nd December 2020.
In the two test matches that he played against India, he has managed to score just 68 runs and that too at a low average of 22.66 runs per innings. His topmost score was 45 runs. As for his bowling, he is yet to take a wicket in international test cricket.
In the sole ODI match he played, he smashed 21 runs, and again, he failed to take even a single wicket. If we talked about his first-class cricket performance, he played 23 matches and scored 1389 runs in total.
He had an impressive batting average of 51.44 in this format. Where he has scored five centuries and three half-centuries. He also boasts a top score of a whopping 197 runs. As for his bowling career then has taken 33 wickets in total in first-class cricket.
He has managed to take five or more wickets two times in his first-class career. As for his best bowling performance, then it was six wickets for 30 runs. He has also played ten matches in List A cricket in total.
Cameron Green Test Debut
Cameron Green as you know made his test debut on 17th December 2020 against India. The match was played in Adelaide Oval. India had won the toss and decided to bat first. Green bowled 9 overs in the first innings of the Indian team but failed to take any wicket.
He was Australia’s most economical bowler with an economy rate of 1.67. In the first innings of the Australian cricket team, he managed to contribute just 11 runs (1 four) in the 24 bowls which he faced before he was dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin.
In the second innings of the Indian team, he was not given the chance to bowl. He did not get an oppotunity to bat in the second inning. Hence, it was not a kind of a debut which we can refer to as ‘spectacular’ in nature.
Cameron Green ODI Debut
Cameron Green made his ODI debut on 2nd December 2020 against the Indian cricket team. The match took place in Manuka Oval. India had won the toss and had decided to bat first. Cameron managed to take 0 wicket as he bowled four overs in total.
As for Cameron Green’s batting, he scored 21 runs after facing 27 deliveries. He hit a boundary and a six in his innings. Now, if we talk about the match itself, then India, while batting first, managed to set a massive target of 302 runs in total.
This was all because of the spectacular innings of Captain Virat Kohli (63 runs in 78 bowls), Hardik Pandya (92 runs in 76 bowls), and Ravindra Jadeja (66 runs in 50 bowls). In response to this, Australia fell short of the set target by 13 runs. Their batsmen tried their best, but they failed to achieve the set target.
